Dr. Fereshteh Ebrahimi Professor |

Biographical Information Professor Ebrahimi received her Ph.D. from the Colorado School of Mines (CSM) in 1982. Following graduation she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at CSM. After one year of Postdoctoral work she was hired as a scientist at the Fracture and Deformation Division of NBS (presently the National Institute of Standards and Technology) in Boulder, Colorado. In August 1984, she joined the faculty of the Materials Science and Engineering Department at the University of Florida as an Assistant Professor. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 1989. During 1990/1991 she spent her sabbatical leave at Max Plank Institute in Stuttgart, Germany. She was promoted to Full Professor in 2001 Professor Ebrahimi is the recipient of several awards including the ASTM Award for Best Publication (1989), Alpha Sigma Mu Excellence in Teaching (1990), Teaching Improvement Program Award (1996), ASME Best Paper Award (2004), and Faculty Excellence Award (2005). She has served on several committees and panels for various organizations including the National Research Council and National Science Foundation. |
